Reinstall a server safely

Start over without accidentally losing your only copy of the world.

Reinstalling replaces the server setup. Treat the data-loss confirmation seriously.

Step by step

Create and download a backup of everything you need, including separate database exports where applicable.
Stop the server cleanly and open the reinstallation control.
Check the selected software and confirm the Minecraft EULA when required.
Read the deletion warning, confirm once and wait for the operation to finish.

Check the result

Start the fresh installation and check the console before restoring individual settings or plugins.

Important

Do not assume a reinstall preserves your world, plugin configuration or credentials. Keep an independent copy first.
