Connect to your Minecraft server

Find the correct address, port and game version.

Use the server address from Overview, not the FTP host, database host or query/plugin port.

Step by step

  1. Start the server and wait for the console to finish loading the world.
  2. Copy the IP and main port from Overview. For Bedrock, use the displayed game port, not an additional port.
  3. Minecraft Java: Open Multiplayer and enter the address as IP:PORT. Minecraft Bedrock: Add a custom server if your device offers that feature, then enter the server address and port in their separate fields.
  4. If a subdomain is configured, try that as well. Bedrock still needs the displayed port. If the subdomain fails, compare with the direct IP and the same game port.

Check the result

Match the client to the installed edition and game version. Bedrock plugin servers support specific client versions. A Java server does not automatically accept Bedrock clients; that requires compatible additional software.

Important

Some Bedrock devices do not offer custom server address entry. Check this before ordering, particularly on consoles.
