Create a scoped API key

Automate allowed actions without exposing your account password.

Customer API access depends on the server type. Free or restricted plans can be excluded even if you have an API key.

Step by step

  1. Open Settings and API keys.
  2. Choose a descriptive name, expiry, permitted servers and only the scopes your integration needs.
  3. Store the generated key securely; do not place it in public client-side code.
  4. Use the public API documentation for routes, authentication, rate limits and background jobs.
  5. Revoke the key when the integration is removed or the key is exposed.

Check the result

Test a read-only request first. Handle 403 permission errors, 429 rate limits and asynchronous job results instead of repeatedly retrying writes.

Important

Server plan restrictions and server permissions remain enforced. An API key does not bypass CAPTCHAs or owner-only actions.
